Fishing is still slow on The Sacramento River for King Salmon. In the past couple of days however, the fish have really begun to start moving in and I expect within a week or two that the fishing should pick up considerably. Best bets have been plugs early then switching to roe when the sun hits the water. August 19th is a benefit Salmon derby to raise money for the Nico Project. If you are not already aware this is a local fund raiser put on by the Cardoza family that lost their 16 month old son Nico. The proceeds are going to help build a play structure at Caper Acres here in Chico. This is a great cause and you can sign up the day of the event if needed. For more info go to Take care and fish on.
