The Nico Project fishing derby took place this last weekend with some boats averaging a couple of fish and a lot of boats with zero. Out of 50 entries, 16 fish were weighed. We fell in the middle with two almost identical 18 lbers. Although the fishing could have been better, a great time was had by all that came together for a great cause. Thanks to Randy Cunningham and his wife for all their hard work. While the fishing has been tough, boats that are being patient and putting in the time are managing to land a couple. The fish are absolutley beautiful right now. Chrome bright and full of fight. We had a 20lber come out of the water mutliple times after taking a backtrolled plug today. The flows were dropped last week and fishing should begin to bust wide open at any time as once again this looks to be a late run year.
